Non-profits will share Grossmont largesse

The Grossmont Healthcare District awarded more than $1.3 million in community grants and sponsorship awards to 29 nonprofit organizations in Eastern San Diego County in recognition of National Nonprofit Day on Aug. 17. Since 1996, the board of directors has granted over $40 million in financial awards to local nonprofit agencies serving residents living within District boundaries. GHD’s investment in East County nonprofits is expected to directly benefit more than 80,000 residents.

“In addition to having built and supported our region’s largest hospital for nearly 70 years now,” stated Board President Gloria Chadwick, RN, in a press release, “the Grossmont Healthcare District is proud to assist the large network of nonprofit clinics and health and human services providers that address the health needs of the residents of East County.”
