Polka dots, fashionable hats and pearls were signature clothing for many that attended the “I Love Lucy” themed fundraiser to help raise operational funds for the St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center’s students. And this year, celebrating its 38th Haute with Heart “I Love Fashion” fundraising event at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront on Aug. 15 was an incredible experience from beginning to end.

STMSC CEO Debra Emerson said this event along with the programs it delivers every day is all about STMSC’s students. And generous supporters dug deep into their pockets for silent and live auction items, and dug even deeper in continuing to contribute large sums of money starting with $50,000 and working its way down.

STMSC students took center stage in its fashion show, showing some of Macy’s casual and elegant wear. Fashion Forward’s creator Leonard Simpson rocked the crowd with a fabulous fashion show containing women and men’s fashions from casual, day to night wear and elegant and extravagant evening wear, jewelry and headpieces.

Organizers had the event theme locked up down to the finest details, with polka dot napkins, video production, and even down to the same candy that Lucy and Ethel made (at See’s Candy) in the “I Love Lucy-Switching Jobs” episode.
