OUTDOOR CLINIC

Sharp Rees-Stealy recently started operating outdoor respiratory clinics outside each of its five Urgent Care facilities, including the one in La Mesa. The service is intended for patients who have been referred by a Sharp Rees-Stealy provider. “We are implementing this to protect patients, doctors and staff while still providing the needed respiratory assessment and care in the safest way possible,” said Dr. Phil Yphantides, medical director, Urgent Care, Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group. As of press time, the county of San Diego reported 1,454 cases of the coronavirus COVID-19. In East County there have been 85 cases reported in El Cajon, 25 in La Mesa, 14 in Lemon Grove, 14 in Santee, 14 in Lakeside and 34 in Spring Valley. Countywide there have been 31 coronavirus-related deaths.
