El Capitan High School teacher Tara Meade is among teachers nationwide in the running to win the 2025-26 Ag Educator of the Year award though the Golden Owl Award.
Nominations across the country were accepted from September 2025 through January 2026, with more than 400 teachers from California up for consideration.
According to the FFA Foundation Meade was “praised for her leadership in advancing agriscience education and creating meaningful opportunities for students to explore research, innovation, and careers in agriculture.”
Meade and other finalists will be presented with a plaque and monetary award during the 2026 State FF Leadership Conference beginning this weekend in Ontario, California.
The winner of the California Ag. Educator of the Year will be named at the conference
The award is presented by The California FFA Foundation, California Farm Bureau and Nationwide.
