SDSU men’s, women’s teams remain undefeated in MW play

The San Diego State University men’s basketball team travels to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday boasting a 7-0 Mountain West Conference record, 13-4 overall.

The Aztecs’ latest two victories included 83-79 over visiting New Mexico on Saturday and 74-57 at Wyoming on Jan. 14.

Myles Byrd poured in 21 points in the win over New Mexico while Pharaoh Compton added 12 points. Reese Dixon-Waters led the visitors with 13 points in Laramie while Byrd had 12 points.

The Aztecs host Colorado State (2-5 in conference) on Wednesday, Jan. 28, and play at Utah State (6-1 in conference) on Saturday, Jan. 31.

The SDSU women’s basketball team improved to 8-0 in MW play, 14-3 overall, following Saturday’s 75-66 overtime win at UNLV (7-1 in conference) behind 20 points from Naomi Panganiban and 19 points from Nat Martinez.

The Lady Aztecs host San Jose State (0-8 in conference) Saturday at 1 p.m.
