In its fifth production, Arms Wide Open travels to the “second star on the right and straight on ‘til morning” in its upcoming performances of “Peter Pan Jr.” After eight months of preparation, the cast and crew is in full dress rehearsals, awaiting its eight performances at the Lyceum Theatre in Horton Plaza from April 24 to May 3.

With around 79 performers and two full casts, Arms Wide Open is wrapping up sets and getting ready to move into the theatre on April 21. Arms Wide Open is a non-profit organization for adults and kids alike with special needs that provide a fostering caring social environment in creating opportunities for recreation and participation in the arts.

Chris Rubio, Arms Wide Open, director, said all should expect an amazing and exciting show. And if dress rehearsal is anything near the performance, audiences are in for a real treat and a trip to a world of fantasy. With hand made sets, a great selection of music and dance and a wardrobe that fits the bill, people will be in Never Never Land with a sprinkle of a little fairy dust.

Arms Wide Open is a non-profit and the facility it works out of Arts in Motion (formally Rubio’s Performing Arts). For tickets and information, call (619) 579-6197.
