Two people were arrested on Sept. 6 after they agreed to buy alcohol for a minor during a Sheriff’s sting operation in Spring Valley.

Seventeen other people refused to buy alcohol for a minor, who was actually an undercover Sheriff’s deputy as part of Operation Shoulder Tap.

The Sheriff’s department announced this type of sting operation will continue through June, 2020 to help prevent underage drinking and other crimes.

The two who were arrested face misdemeanor charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The sting operation took place outside three liquor stores and was funded by a grant from the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
