McAlister Institute, a provider of alcohol and drug treatment services in San Diego County, announced a major rebranding initiative to reflect its growth, leadership transition and long-term vision.

The rebrand includes a refreshed mission, redesigned website and updated messaging intended to capture the agency’s evolution and continued commitment to individuals and families affected by addiction.

The announcement follows a leadership transition from founder Jeanne McAlister to her granddaughter, Marisa Varond. The organization also received a $34 million grant from the California Department of Health Care Services.

“We couldn’t be more excited to begin this new chapter,” said Varond, chief executive officer. “The changes we’re undertaking are about more than just a new look. They represent the strength of our legacy and the boldness of our future. This rebrand honors nearly 50 years of service while preparing us to meet the needs of the next generation. We’re thrilled to share this journey with our community.”

McAlister Institute said the redesigned website will offer a more user-friendly and informative platform. The new brand aims to better reflect the organization’s scope of services, including prevention, intervention, outpatient and residential care.

Founded in 1977, the organization operates 23 programs and supports more than 19,000 individuals each year through a comprehensive continuum of care.
