Padres hoping vaccination clinic a hit

The San Diego Padrs hosted their first vaccine clinic June 12 outside Petco Park.

The county of San Diego and the San Diego Padres are teaming up to encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Padres, on Saturday June 26, are hosting the second of two walk-in vaccinaton clinics at Petco Park’s Gallagher Square.

The event is from 1:30 to 8 p.m..

The county will be offering the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the two-dose Pfizer vaccine, which is approved for people age 12 and older.

Each person vaccinated will receive a free pair of tickets to a future Padres game and a Padres Hero T-shirt, while available. Vaccine recipients will also be eligible to enter a drawing for a pair of tickets to a separate game.

The event is part of major League Baseball’s “MLB Vaccinate at the Plate” program taking place through June.
