Neal takes reins of The East County Californian

Iris E. Neal, an award-winning, experienced journalist was recently named Editor of The East County Californian.

She has worked as a staff writer/reporter for the Daily Californian, the Coronado Journal, the Ramona Sentinel and the Navajo News. She has also been a Contributing Writer for the “Los Angeles Times Syndicate.”
In addition, she worked for five years as assistant editor, staff writer and reporter for Senior World Newsmagazine.

Neal’s  awards include “Feature Writing” category from The Society of Professional Journalists and Silver Award in the “Media” disvision from the “Mature Media National Awards. Most recently, she has both produced and contributed to a variety of company newsletters for both profit and non-profit organizations located throughout San Diego County.

She has been a long-time residident of  East County and welcomes the opportunity to join the team of the East County Californian.
