The 250th anniversary of the country’s independence will be marked next week with July 4 celebrations throughout East County and elsewhere.
EL CAJON
Kennedy Park will be a center of activity Saturday, July 4. Beginning at 3 p.m. the City of El Cajon is hosting a variety of family-friendly activities including free train rides for kids, arts and crafts and games. In addition there also will be live music provided by a DJ. Starting at 9 p.m. there will be a fireworks show.

SANTEE
Santee gets Independence Day festivities started in the early afternoon starting at 2 p.m.
Centered at Town Center Community Park East, Santee Salutes—America 250 marks the nation’s 250th birthday with live entertainment, food vendors and a family-friendly atmosphere.
The paid parking lot opens at 2 p.m., with shuttle service from Costco to the venue beginning at 3 p.m. Food vendors begin selling at 4 p.m. while a 6 p.m. color guard ceremony and military-style fly over precedes a 6:30 performance by Those Guys. At 9 p.m. a fireworks display will begin.
Town Center Community Park East is at 550 Park Center Drive.

The Alpine Club is hosting a its annual Fourth of July Festival in the Park on July 4, featuring live music, family activities, community organizations, and plenty of opportunities for neighbors to connect.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Alpine Club, 1830 Alpine Blvd., following the community’s annual parade that begins at 10 a.m. and moves along Columbine Road and Larkspur Drive.
