The fabulous Flannery Padres, dressed in blazing blue uniforms are making a statement, and are at the top of their game at 15-wins, 3-losses, and one tie. This great group of boys has true chemistry. Most of these fine young ball players have been playing since the age of 4, and playing for the same teams at Cajon De Oro Little League. It has all the tools and a great cast of characters from umpires to managers.

Coming off a spectacular come-from-behind win on May 17, bats came alive once again, and have been pretty consistent all year. This was the first game of the playoff schedule against the Shirley Padres. All the teams are Padres, followed by the last name of each manager.

The pitching was decent to start the first inning, but the latter innings turned into a walk fest, 24 to be exact. However this contest did have some exciting moments.

Starting pitcher, Lincoln Wirschem stacked up four strikeouts and allowed only one run to cross the plate in two innings. Starting pitcher, Luke Bailey who is always automatic on the hill, had a rough outing to start this one. Bailey allowed four hits, quite a few walks and three strikeouts. Bailey will most definitely bounce back as both Wirschem and Bailey play travel ball as well, and are both stellar ball players. The Flannery Padres would go on and win convincingly 20-11.

Byard Mcnelia went 2-4 with a base hit and a spectacular triple. Wirschem also made a statement with the bat going 3-3, 2 doubles and a single. Zack Garmo even showed some power in his bat even though his laser was caught, but he is improving day by day. Quinn Flannery had a great night behind the dish catching or blocking nearly every pitch.
Team Flannery as a whole is an unstoppable machine, with great players with fantastic attitudes, and hands down their skipper, T J Flannery is one of the best in the league and both the players and parents agree.
