LEMON GROVE — Bolstered by State Senator Joel Anderson (R-Alpine) and Assemblyman Brian Jones (R-Santee), as well as dozens of supporters, Mary England officially began her quest for the 79th state assembly seat at DHC Honda on Thursday, Feb. 2.
“This state is made up of great people,” England told the assembled multitude. “Enterpenuership is not dead in California, but it does need resuscitating. I’m in the trenches every day with small businesses and will fight for them.
“I will never waiver and I will never raise taxes.”
Both Anderson and Jones gave glowing endorsement speeches at the rally.
“I’m a huge supporter of Mary and it’s an honor,” Anderson said.
Aside from the powerful local leaders which sang her praise, England was surrounded with many individuals who just wanted to see her reach Sacramento and do some good.
“I think we need someone there to stop this crazy spending and get us back on the right track again,” said a vocal but unidentified supporter.
