The La Mesa-El Cajon branch of the American Association of University Women will feature Bell Middle School principal Precious Jackson-Hubbard and retired swim coach Mimi Test at their upcoming Feb. 11 meeting.
Jackson-Hubbard was named a ‘Phenomenal Woman’ by the California Women’s Museum in 2021 and Middle School Administrator of the Year in 2022 by the Association of California School Administrators for her work in education.
Test has been called a swim ‘coaching legend’ for her work at Granite Hills and Valhalla High schools with six years of boys Grossmont league championships as well as 13 girls league championships and two county titles to her name.
AAUW advocates for more women in leadership positions, closing the gender pay gap and preventing sexual harassment and discrimination. The La Mesa-El Cajon branch is one of the largest in California. Their meetings are open to the public with newcomers always welcome, held at Foothills United Methodist Church in La Mesa.
