It’s all rhythm and blues at Spring Harp Fest XVI

Rhythm and blues and the harmonica took center stage at this year’s Spring Harp Fest in La Mesa.  People filled the park to listen to local  musicians, with a special performance by premier blues harmonica players Kim Wilson headlining the afternoon. Spring Harp Fest is a non-profit organization that had distributed nearly 5,000 harmonicas to local schools with its Blues In The Schools Program. Co-founders Chet Cannon, Budd Willis and Harmonica John Frazer, along with many volunteers put this concert together each year, dedicated to passing on to the next generation in building a better musical future.  With 12 performances, the “unknown players jam” and the Headcutters Ball, provided for a highly entertaining afternoon.
