As we are entering the spring of 2017 there is one thing apparent in the world of women’s fashion and apparel. It is a mishmash of decades of fashion all coming together for that special look with your own personal touch. From high fashion to everyday wear, this year’s looks all depends on who you are, what you like and what you wear that makes you feel great. Neutral colors are in for the summer along with the bright splashes of color. Flared pants are here once again, and if you have the shoes that make it extraordinary, a hem above the ankle is the way to go. Bohemia is alive and well with its soft flowy light materials and mixed designs, and for the businesswomen, pantsuits and jackets are all acceptable. Major department stores boast the latest and greatest in the spring and fall collection and between them all you have a wide variety of choices when it comes to style and price. With two Macys stores in the area you can be a step ahead of this years fashions, and surprisingly enough, if take your time and look through it all you can find what you are looking for at a reasonable price. With top name brands like Lauren Ralph Lauren, Alfani, Armani Exchange, Calvin Klien, Ivanka Trump, and Maison Jules there are plenty of styles of dresses that fit all of the styles from a day at the beach or a night out on the town. And each of these designers is the same in the styles that are available. From glamour to bohemian, it is there for the picking. The same can be said for JC Pennys and Sears, different designers but much the same designs. The good thing about these department stores is that they can cater to all of your needs from clothing to accessories all in one spot. They also offer a variety of prices for the different styles that you might choose. But something to remember, the clearance rack can be your best friend, especially if you have the patience to dig through it all. Locally, Glamour Girlz in El Cajon has everything needed from dresses to all accessories at a reasonable price and up to date fashions.

Shoes can make or break an outfit

Well as far as shoes go, you have as wide of a variety as clothes. Making a comeback this year in strong fashion are platforms, velvets and sandals are running amuck from knee high ties to bling that will show give that new pedicure in high style. And running right alongside are the wide variety of designer tennis shoes from plain to print they are all in fashion. Combat and the ole fashion Victorian looks are in, and fringe, whether you like it or not is hot from ankle to knee-highs. Thrift stores and resale shops can be your best friend

Vintage is here to stay and not going anywhere and your local resale and thrift shops have everything from every era. It is worth the time to go through and see what you can find, and then be amazed at what you pay for it. Bellbottoms are back in style, again and for that bohemian style, look for clothes made in the late 60s to early 70s and you’ll be amazed at what you can find.

Mix don’t match

This is a strong theme in this year’s fashion. Wear a different earring on each side. Buy two pairs of identical shoes in different colors and wear one of each. Wear your tiny black dress with a bohemian silk scarf. It is trendy and makes your entire outfit stand out, bringing a not so subtle look to a neutral fashion. And that is really what 2017 is trending. Don’t get caught up in the perfectly matching of your fashion. Mix it up a bit, add your personality with things that you love to wear.
