On Saturday, April 6, from 8 a.m. to noon, the city of Santee is holding its Santee Community Clean Up & Shred event at Santee City Hall. Santee residents can drop off unwanted items such as appliances, mattresses, furniture, and tree limbs. Proof of residency is required with a driver’s license, or a gas, electric, water or Waste Management bill. Each household is allowed to dispose of four items, and shredding is limited to five bankers boxes. This event does not take hazardous materials such as paints, oils, batteries, and household or industrial materials, construction materials, or commercial vehicles.
