Vroom vroom, bass and beats celebrate 30 years in La Mesa

La Mesa Lumber Truck Stage

La Mesa is kicking off its 30th Annual La Mesa Classic Car Show & Music Event starting June 6, from 5-8 p.m. through the end of August. This summer tradition features classic cars, trucks, and vans along La Mesa Boulevard, accompanied by live bands and a DJ every Thursday, except June 13 and July 4. In celebration of 30 years, the event will have 30th anniversary hats. There will also be three theme nights. June 20 is Rockabilly/50s, July 25 is Country Western, and Aug. 29 is All About the 80s theme. This event takes place in the heart of The Village between Spring and 4th streets.

“The La Mesa Classic Car Show is a beloved summer tradition that brings many new visitors, plus locals alike, to our beautiful downtown Village,” said La Mesa Village Association President Wes Troy. “It is a fun, free event for all to enjoy. And we encourage visitors to not only check out the classic cars and enjoy the live music but take the opportunity to check out our vibrant dining scene and unique retails shops, which are open during the event while they are here.”

Bands will be playing atop the La Mesa Lumber truck stage at 3rd Street and La Mesa Boulevard.
