Silver Creek Fine Art Galley and Custom Framing might have opened up on April Fool’s Day but this gallery is no joke.
Nestled on Main Street in the heart of Downtown El Cajon, Silver Creek offers an eclectic display of bronzes, sculptures, paintings, furniture, clothing and jewelry all under one roof.
And that’s just the half of it.

“Some of the pieces in my shop are things I’ve gotten in trades,” she said. “Some are things I’ve come across in my travels around the world. I really just look for things that people aren’t going to walk in to another store and see it. I wanted to display things that are really unique. I want people to be inspired when they come here. “
Every piece has a story.
Owner Lynn Endicott said she has spent her entire career in the realms of the of art world.
“I began my career as a stained glass artist,” she said. “Then I was a buy for an art dealer and I always loved to collect things. I traveled all over the world so I would always pick little things up and collect them, and then I brought them here.”
Besides displaying wide variety of art, Endicott, a certified picture framer, creates her own with the gorgeous frames constructed right in the shop.
“We do a variety of things,” she said. “Sometimes we might frame a photograph, we’ve done plates, paintings, custom matting, we’ve pretty much done it all.”
Silver Creek recently celebrated its 35th anniversary in El Cajon. Endicott said she would not be nearly as successful if it weren’t for her dedicated team of experienced craftsman.
“Carlos Casterjon and Tom Johnston have been with me for a long time,” she said. “They are a huge part of my success and I trust them completely. Between the three of us we combine for more than 100 years of experience in custom framing and art gallery management.”
Endicott and Silver Creek Gallery have been honored with a mountain of awards and accolades including “Business of the Year” by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce in 2007.
Endicott herself served on the East County Chamber of Commerce from 1995-2007, including two years as the vice chairperson, a founding director for the Olaf Wieghorst Museum and Western Heritage Center, and a 4th generation Rotarian.
But the thing she said she loves the most is caring for the people who come into Silver Creek Gallery.
“I adore my customers,” she said. That’s why this is important for me. I have wonderful friends, and wonderful customers.”
