School district hires Comms. Director

The Santee Board of Education announced Jan. 14 that Cori Harris has been hired as the district’s new Director of Communications and Community Engagement. Harris comes to the district from Arizona, where she most recently served as a City Council Communications Manager.

Harris will serve as the district’s media liaison, oversee all internal and external messaging, and execute community outreach programs. The district serves approximately 6,400 K-8 students in the Santee area.

“With a growing district and evolving communication needs, especially through the pandemic, we saw a need for centralized and increased communications. Cori’s experience using innovative strategies to connect communities will allow us to reach our families and partners in new ways,” Santee School District Board President Elana Levens-Craig said.

Harris can be reached at cori.harris@santeesd.net or by calling (619) 227-6978.
