The City of La Mesa selected Lynnette Santos as the new director of Community Development.
“As the newly appointed Director of Community Development for the City of La Mesa, Lynnette assumes a central position in advancing our City’s development endeavors and promoting sustainable growth within our community,” City Manager Greg Humora said in a statement. “We are excited to welcome her to the team and look forward to the contributions she will bring to the City’s ongoing advancement.”
Santos previously served as the chief of Departmental Operations, County of San Diego Planning and Development Services Department. Her responsibilities included working on a wide range of critical issues, such as housing, community planning, general plan amendments and zoning ordinance updates, environmental reviews, transportation, and development of the County of San Diego’s Socially Equitable Cannabis Program. Her tenure at the County has been marked by a dedication to improving the quality of life for residents through comprehensive planning and development strategies.
Before her tenure at the County, Santos dedicated almost 20 years to the City of Chula Vista, where she held various key positions, in both current planning and long-range planning.
