The 2nd Annual Art in the Park Fundraiser for the Parks is scheduled for this weekend.
On Saturday, June 17 at La Mesa Community Garden at MacArthur Park artwork will be on view in the garden and available for purchasing. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. The theme is “Sustainability.”
“Sustainability is a key element of the artistic expression and a huge reflection of our responsibility to our environment,” artist Sophia Stamos said in a statement provided by organizers. “Through my art I aspire to inspire others to see the potential for transformation in the discarded and for viewers to pause, reflect and reconnect with nature’s beauty.”
The Art in the Park Fundraiser for Parks will also host the Rolf Olsen Jazz Quartet, food, and drinks. Tickets are $35 and available at lamesaparks.org.
