New program approval benefits future paramedic students at EMSTA College in Santee

EMSTA College, in Santee, has received new program approval from the “Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools” (ACICS) that will allow students seeking a career as a paramedic to obtain an Associates of Occupational Science degree.

Rick Foehr, Program Director and founder of EMSTA College, said, “This is an exciting time for us!  With this new approval, we can transfer college credits as well as offer the AOS degree.”

EMSTA College is a private post-secondary school and has been licensed by the  State of California with the Bureau of Private Postsecondary  Education  (BPPE)  since  June  2005.  The school was granted programmatic accreditation by CAAHEP in November 2007 for the Paramedic Program.  EMSTA offers two (2) Paramedic classes, and twenty-one (21) EMT classes, day, and evenings, each year.

EMSTA’s Mission is to prepare students to become the most competent and compassionate care givers in the field of Emergency Prehospital Medicine and Allied Health fields, who will meet state and national expectations within those professions.

The EMSTA College Paramedic Training Program prepares professional paramedics at the associate’s level to address the health care needs of diverse populations in the region. In accordance with its teaching mission, the EMSTA College Paramedic Training Program provides a scholarly atmosphere that stimulates service, research, and creative activities by its faculty and students.
