This was the best Masters of the Moment Show to date. St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center filled with nearly 100 people. Artists studied the stunning artwork hanging on the walls from some of the best artists in San Diego. Chairman Donna McCullough announced the awards.
“I’m very pleased with the amount of people who participated in the show,” she said.
This year, 66 individual artists entered the art show, with 122 entries and enough room for 76 paintings.

Prizes included $1,025 dollars and other prizes from art stores around town. Juror Yumi Climenson, born in Tokyo, Japan and earned her BFA. She also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
“The art show is stunning, the artwork fabulous. It’s pleasing to look at,” said Mike Hefner. “The people that did the hanging of the paintings did a wonderful job.”

* First Place, Dottie Hays, “King of the Blues,” watercolor
* Second Place, Gloria Chadwick, “Autumn Offering,” oil
* Third Place Sandra Hayen, “Eucalyptus Evening,” oil
Hefner also won first place in his division, “Representational Landscape,” at the San Diego County Fair.
