I’m writing to comment on the article published in the East County Californian, May 21, 2015, page 6, “Big banks, missing money, unanswered questions”.
Susie Blake brought this article to my attention. I am not an activist of any sort, but I am a concerned community member. It just so happens that the 22 year old young lady who died last year mentioned in the article was an employee of mine, as well as a regular customer in my Bar, Sonny’s Last Chance Saloon, located nearby where Mrs. Lyman lived.
The point I’m about to make is minor in comparison to the bigger issue of the bank’s rip-off of the charity organization. I was questioned and assisted the detective in the homicide investigation of Mrs. Lyman. Her death was ruled by the coroner to be an accidental drug overdose—not from brutal torture or murder.
As for the case of the missing money owed to the charity, I’m not sure what else can be done, but something needs to be done. Mrs. Blake has informed me that the matter continues to be pursued, but I have little faith that it will be satisfactorily resolved. This is just one more example of the corruption of the oligarchy comprised of the current government and the financial institutions that sleep together.
