On May 25, after nearly a seven-hour long standoff, deputies with the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail arrested Brandon Andrade after using a chemical agent in his home in Lemon Grove. Authorities said Andrade came out of his home with his hands up and surrendered peacefully.
Authorities said this began shortly before 8 a.m. when the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Station received 9-1-1 calls about a shooting in the 8100 block of Longdale Drive, reporting a man was shooting at his neighbor’s homes.
As authorities were in communication with Andrade, family members told authorities that he might have other firearms inside the home and his mother said that Andrade has mental health needs.
Andrade had to undergo a mental health evaluation before being booked into the San Diego County jail on three counts of attempted murder.
