Lantern Crest Senior Living is expanding its presence in San Diego County with the debut of The Legacy, a new residential offering designed to elevate independent living within its established campus in Santee.
The 371-residence community has built a reputation for combining resort-style amenities with a strong sense of connection among residents. With The Legacy, leadership is aiming to take that concept further, introducing a more refined, hospitality-driven living experience while maintaining access to the broader campus.
“The Legacy represents the next evolution,” said Executive Director Kaan Ciftci. “It delivers a higher level of luxury, design, and service, while remaining fully integrated into the Lantern Crest community.”
Set to include 106 residences, The Legacy will offer a range of floor plans, from studios to penthouses. Residences are designed with modern kitchens, large windows, and spacious layouts, with select units featuring expanded balconies.
The design draws inspiration from New York, particularly the sophistication associated with Park Avenue. That influence is reflected in the building’s architectural details, materials, and a black-and-gold color palette intended to create an upscale yet welcoming environment.
Amenities will extend across the Lantern Crest campus, including multiple dining venues, fitness and wellness programs, and recreational features such as a bowling alley, putting green, and pools. The Legacy will also introduce new spaces, including a rooftop steakhouse and an upper-level lounge designed to enhance the community’s social atmosphere.
For residents, the focus remains on balancing independence with access to support.
“It’s independence, with built-in support for the future,” Ciftci said, noting that additional levels of care are available on campus if needs change over time.
Programming will include a full calendar of events, from fitness classes and group outings to live entertainment and social gatherings. The goal is to create an environment where connections develop naturally, and residents remain actively engaged.
Pre-leasing for The Legacy begins in April, with prospective residents able to explore floor plans, pricing, and timelines through the community’s sales team. Residences can be reserved with a deposit, and preview events and tours are planned to help individuals and families make informed decisions.
Sustainability is also part of the project’s design. The development incorporates energy-efficient systems, environmentally conscious materials, and solar-powered carports, while all on-campus vehicles are fully electric.
The addition of The Legacy reflects Lantern Crest’s broader mission to expand options for senior living while maintaining a focus on comfort, connection, and long-term care. Plans include an additional phase within the current campus, as well as expansion into other markets, including a proposed development in Temecula.
“Our goal is to continue elevating the standard of senior living,” Ciftci said. “We want to create communities that people are genuinely excited to call home.”
