Lakeside’s 50th Annual Rodeo brings fun and adrenaline in old time cowboy tradition

Over the weekend the 50th Annual Lakeside Rodeo roped, wrestled and threw many a cowboy. Three days of action packed competitions, the El Capitan Stadium Association delivered for its 50th year in a row.

All-around cowboy went to Ryle Smith, of Oakdale, CA.

All-around cowboy went to Ryle Smith, of Oakdale, CA.

Winning the barrier in steer wrestling was Smith, with 10.1 seconds. Averaging first place in team roping were Gabe Ramirez and Randy Harris from Riverside at 14.4 seconds. First place in saddle bronc riding went to Bradley Harter who scored 83 points on Kickin Good Time and first place in bareback riding was a tie between Jessy Davis on Gold Dust and Bobby Mote on Blue Bayou, scoring 83 points.

Joseph Parsons averaged the tie down roping competition with 8.7 seconds and barrel racing went to Liz Combs at 17.05 seconds.

In bull riding competitions only two qualified leaving Dalan Duncan in first place on Eager Beaver (72 points) and Dylan Vic Hice in second at 69 points.
