The 4th Annual Randy Jones 5K for Independence held on Feb. 15 at Santee Lakes raised over $25,000. All proceeds went directly towards the programs and services Home of Guiding Hands provides to over 800 San Diegans with developmental disabilities.

More than 500 children, adolescents and adults attended the event to show their support. Sponsors included The Bill & Norma Verbeck Foundation, Video Fact, Barona Resort & Casino, Centurion Counsel, California Bank and Trust, St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center and Rowling and Associates and Total Rebalance Expert.  Marrs, Maddocks and Associates sponsored the family fun zone, a new feature at this year’s event.

Special thanks go to Sycuan Casino who generously donated 25 cases of water, 500 granola bars and 500 bagels. Kind also donated granola bars. San Diego Track Club lent the use of all race cones and course materials, and chip timers were provided for all participants. Pizza Pazza and Super Q Food Trucks were on site selling lunch.

The event was a huge success and together San Diegans made strides towards independence.
