The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce is holding its fifteenth annual Salute to Local Heroes, incorporating the theme “Top Hat & Tails,” as the Chamber celebrates its local heroes, recognizes its incoming Board of Directors. This event, which includes a silent auction, raffles, and a celebration of local first responders will be held at the Sycuan Casino Resort’s Heritage Ballroom on Oct. 17 from 5:30 – 8:45 p.m.

This unique event celebrates the strength of our community and honors local heroes that serve and make sacrifices daily for others. These heroes are from law enforcement, the fire district and the paramedic field. They are chosen by their individual departments for selfless acts of courage, dedication, bravery, compassion, and service to our community.

“It is such an honor to produce the annual Salute to Local Heroes. To honor and celebrate those men and women who are chosen by their organizations for selfless acts of courage and dedication is a testament to their commitment for our community. This year we have an added reason to celebrate as we recognize the 30th anniversary of the La Mesa Police Department’s Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol program. Those amazing senior volunteers donate countless hours to this program and the estimated savings to the LMPD has been calculated to be $140,447 annually,” said La Mesa Chamber President & CEO Mary England.

The event is open to the public. Visit www.lamesachamber.com for more information.
