The theatre seasons arrives in East County in October at Grossmont College with the performance of “Harvey.”
“Harvey” tells the story of Elwood P. Dowd, a kind-hearted gentleman whose closest companion is Harvey, a six-foot-tall invisible rabbit. Elwood’s family worries about the effect his unusual friendship has on their reputation, and attempt to have him committed to a sanitarium, leading to a case of mistaken identity—and a comical series of events.
The play explores the ideas of kindness and acceptance while also cosnidering how the world might be different if viewed through an empathetic lens.
“Harvey” runs 8-10 and 15-17 with showtimes set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays at Performing and Visual Arts Center. Tickets are $10 to $20. For more information call (619) 644-7234.
