After 15 years of working with adults with developmental disabilities, Sophie’s Art Gallery in El Cajon has much to celebrate. With its opening reception on Feb. 13, the gallery brought back some of its favorite projects and people for its 2015 Gotta have Heart fundraiser art show.

Wendy Morris, Sophie’s Art Gallery administrator said the show is a combination of hand painted mail boxes, hand printed umbrellas, fused glass, mosaics and guests artists that have previously worked with the gallery.

“During our anniversary year we are bringing back projects and artists from prior shows,” she said.

With a grand reception supporters, board members, family and friends showed up to support and purchase many of the items on sale. Many recalled being there for the grand opening and found it hard to believe 15 years had gone by.

Sophie’s Art Gallery is located at 109 Rea Ave., in El Cajon.
