Picture yourself as Spiderman wrapped in a ‘new school’ web known as the BodyWeb straps of the TRX.
How popular is the TRX work-out system at Crunch Gym in El Cajon’s Parkway Plaza?
“Extremely popular—every class fills up,” according to John Romeo, Crunch’s Operating Partner.
Give credit to Romeo for using the phrase “Spiderman moves” to describe the class.

“Extremely popular—every class fills up,” according to John Romeo, Crunch’s Operating Partner.

Romeo points out that TRX trainers like “Roo” make the class “fun” with no swear words being thrown in either direction, participant to trainer or or the other way, all while participants use their own body weight as resistance to work all muscle groups.
Roo says his client age range from ages 13 to 75.

“It’s harder than it looks,” he says to any naysayers who think it might not be a good workout.
Some may be familiar with the name Drew Brees, a football player; well the official TRX website has a picture of Drew working out using the TRX straps. More and more sports teams are using the TRX.

The military as well come into play as having a place and time for the TRX straps with pictures on another ‘web’ of soldiers hooking the TRX up to a tank and working out in the desert. Not like they could take the neighborhood gym with them to stay fit.
Joseph Hancock, another TRX trainer in Santee, utilizes the TRX on clients with a range of exercises like single leg squats, single leg floor bridges, and side lunges. Hancock states

“Those three exercises are excellent for developing glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and total body stability.”
“It has assisted in the rehabilitation of knee surgeries all the way up to a client training for the Special Forces,” Hancock said.
The TRX can be attached to a pole or even a tree in the park. TRX training was born in the military but has expanded to professional sports leagues, Olympic athletes, and is evident at more and more gyms—like Romeo’s Crunch Gym… or on a tank in the desert.
