El Cajon’s Citizen of the Year

The San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce announced that Tim McDougal has been selected as the 2024 El Cajon Citizen of the Year for his outstanding volunteer service to the El Cajon community.

McDougal has been a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County and its Foundation, the El Cajon Rotary Club and its Foundation, the East County Posse and Covenant Church, altogether 6 non-profit boards of directors. He is an active member of the La Mesa and East County Regional Chambers of Commerce and was nominated by the Boys & Girls Clubs as well as El Cajon Rotary.

Also nominated were Rob Ransweiller (St. Madeline Sophie’s Center and Leadership East County Program), Gregory Gleeson (East County Transitional Living Center), Jeanne McAlister (McAlister Institute) and Cathy Lee Zeman (Lions Club of El Cajon).

El Cajon has honored its Citizen of the Year since 1956. Tim’s father, Lynn McDougal, was selected in 1974. Tim McDougal is the husband of Stanna McDougal, the father of Amanda McDougal-Green and Kevan McDougal and grandfather of Josephine Green. Tim has been an East County banker for 38 years beginning with Grossmont Bank. He is currently with Endeavor Bank.

Tim McDougal will be honored at the State of El Cajon event held Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Community Center, 195 East Douglas Avenue, El Cajon.
