John Ibrahim, 29, is also charged with robbery and carjacking. His trial has been set for Dec. 1 in El Cajon Superior Court and he has pleaded not guilty.

The victim was making a delivery in the 1100 block of W. Chase Ave. in El Cajon on Feb. 23 around 11 p.m. when two people confronted him. It is alleged that Ibrahim pointed a gun at him and took his wallet, cell phone, and vehicle.
Two La Mesa police officers on patrol noticed Garcia was driving the victim’s car into a convenience store on Amaya Drive later that night. She was arrested after officers found the victim’s stolen property in the car. Ibrahim was arrested in May. Both remain in jail.
Mental competency hearing set for El Cajon man suspected of killing mother
Criminal proceedings have been suspended for Erik Enrique Margain, 35, of El Cajon, who is suspected of killing his mother and a mental competency hearing has been set for Dec. 18.
Margain is accused of killing Martha Margain-Velarde, 64, and injuring his 37-year-old brother on May 17 around 5 p.m. in the mother’s home in the 1900 block of Hidden Crest Drive in El Cajon. He is also charged with attempted murder of his brother.
Margain’s attorney told a judge he had a doubt as to whether his client was mentally competent to stand trial, so proceedings were suspended until the hearing Dec. 18 in San Diego Superior Court.
If a judge finds he is competent, a preliminary hearing will be set. Margain remains in jail without bail.
Trial date set for Santee woman charged with robbery
A Jan. 4 trial date has been set for Nataley Ann Gutierrez, 29, of Santee, charged with armed robbery of a CVS Pharmacy in which she demanded a prescription painkiller.
Gutierrez was ordered Sept. 29 to stand trial in a preliminary hearing before El Cajon Superior Court Judge Dan Lamborn. Gutierrez allegedly pulled a gun on a CVS employee and demanded the prescription Percocet on April 7. She received some medication and left.
She has pleaded not guilty and remains free on $100,000 bond on condition she stay away from the CVS Pharmacy in Santee.
