Staff were helpful and courteous, there to help show what its Sunday morning brunch is offering and to serve your favorite choice between champagne, Mimosas or orange juice.

There is an overabundance of food to choose from that are a breakfast, lunch or dinner. Portions of the food are the perfect size to sample many of the dishes prepared by Chef Lupe Garcia. He said he always keeps some of the standards, especially for the breakfast items, but is always mixing it up a bit every week with the entrees that he serves.

Beginning with more of a breakfast theme, I chose scrambled eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, green chili cheese enchiladas and chili relleno. This was a perfect blend of American and Mexican traditional cuisine and the enchiladas and chili relleno really added to the flavor of the entire plate.

For course two, I went for the main lunch entrees of the day. With a roast beef and ham carving station, shrimp Alfred, chicken marsala and blackened salmon, there was a great variety in taste and textures that pleased the hungry palate. The horseradish sauce for the roast beef was superb, the blackened salmon was spicy enough for taste, but not overpowering and the shrimp Alfredo could have been taken home and eaten cold as a pasta salad at a later time.

With such a huge selection of food, at an abnormally low price for a champagne brunch, this is a great place for a leisurely brunch, and again, the atmosphere is half of the experience.

Cottonwood Golf has plans to get a full made to order egg and omelet bar and to find a way to keep it open year round. It takes reservations for parties, large and small and has many already booked through the holidays. It is a great venue for an outdoor event.
