Applications to fill review board vacancy accepted

The County of San Diego Citizens’ Law Enforcement Review Board is accepting applications to fill one vacancy on the committee.

The volunteer review board investigates citizen complaints against San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies and probation officers.

The seat is open to those individuals who live San Diego County District 4 which encompasses communities including La Jolla, Kearny Mesa, Ocean Beach and parts of downtown San Diego.

Two members from each of the five supervisorial districts sit on the board with the eleventh at-large from any of the districts.

Review board members are appointed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for three year terms staggered between July 1 and June 30.

Applicants must:

• Be a registered voter in San Diego County

•Reside in District 4

• Complete a training course within three months of being appointed

• Attend one Citizens’ Law Enforcement Review Board meeting prior to applying;

Applicants may not be a county employee or hold a position as a sworn law enforcement officer.

Applications will be accepted until May 1.
