Music on Main Continues Every Friday
Summer isn’t over yet! Music on Main continues every Friday evening through August from 6 – 8 p.m at Prescott Promenade. The free concert series brings together friends, families and visitors to enjoy live performances while supporting Downtown’s local businesses.
This month’s lineup includes Santana Ways on Aug. 7, Patrick Trampus on Aug. 14, Back to the Garden on Aug. 21 and The Soul Persuaders closing out the season on Aug. 28. Grab dinner from one of downtown’s many delicious restaurants, bring a chair, and enjoy an evening filled with great music and community spirit.
Save the Date for Alley Cat Art Fest
As summer winds down, now is the perfect time to mark your calendars for Alley Cat Art Fest on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This free, family-friendly festival will transform Downtown El Cajon into a vibrant outdoor gallery featuring more than 50 local artists, live music, bites and sips, curated activities and artisanal goods.
Guests can explore the colorful murals throughout Arts Alley while supporting local artists and small businesses. Even better, proceeds from the festival help restore Downtown El Cajon’s public murals and fund future public art projects, ensuring creativity continues to thrive throughout the community.
Business Spotlight: Rodizio Grill
Looking to try something new? This month’s business spotlight is Rodizio Grill, Downtown El Cajon’s authentic Brazilian steakhouse. Known for its traditional dining experience, Rodizio Grill serves an endless selection of perfectly grilled meats carved tableside by Rodizio “Gauchos” (meat servers), alongside an expansive gourmet salad bar filled with fresh ingredients.

Honoring Our Purple Heart Recipients and Veterans
On Aug. 7, communities across the country observe National Purple Heart Day, recognizing the brave members of the U.S. Armed Forces who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation. Throughout the month, Downtown El Cajon proudly honors Purple Heart recipients, veterans, active-duty military members and the families whose sacrifices have protected our freedoms. Their courage and dedication continue to inspire our community every day.
