Steele Canyon Board elections

Steele Canyon High School, a California Charter school, will conduct a Regular Election for Community and Certificated Staff Governing Board Member positions in August/September 2024. Beginning on Aug. 12, interested parties will need to submit a Declaration of Candidacy Form, by the Aug. 30 deadline. Forms are available on the school website and in the front office of Steele Canyon High School. Each candidate will need to complete and submit a Candidate’s Form 700 by the Aug. 30 deadline which can be accessed through the Fair Political Practices Commission’s website at (www.fppc.ca.gov) and in the front office at Steele Canyon High School.

Governing Board member positions up for election are two Community Board Members, and one Certified Staff Board Member. The newly elected Board members’ three (3) year terms will officially begin in October 2024, upon certification of the election results by the sitting Board.

Election Timeline:
Aug. 12: Declarations of Candidacy available
Aug. 30: Last day to receive Declaration of Candidacy, by 3:30 p.m.
September: TBA: Tentative Candidate Forms
Sept. 9: Voting period officially begins
Sept. 25: Voting periods ends
Sept. 30: Count ballots and certify the vote
Oct. 9: Installation of new Board members

The SCHS Election Ad-Hoc Committee is looking for volunteers to assist the Board secretary, or the secretary’s designee, in overseeing the election process, assisting with preparing ballots, and the counting of the ballots.
