Drive slow and save

We can all save money, gas and lives by simply driving slower. We can save up to 20% by driving 55 mph instead of 75 mph!
With gas prices increasing rapidly, it can be reassuring to know that there IS something we can ALL do to reduce the cost of driving and the price of gas. Drive slower, under 65 mph or ideally around 55 mph. If we all did this the demand for gas would decline. We can save even more by driving less and driving InteliGently. Here’s
how:
Reduce trips, walk, ride a bike, use public transit, share rides, take the train.
Slow down. Every mph over 55 mph loses 1% mileage.
Anticipate traffic. Slow down before stop lights, glide through the green light when it changes. Drive an electric, hybrid or at least a more fuel efficient vehicle. Change your air filter when needed.
Keep engine tuned, and tires inflated to proper pressure preferably with nitrogen.
Reduce use of air conditioning. Keep car cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter by parking in a garage. Park in the shade and use window shades when it is hot. Heat zaps gas from your tank. Jettison excess weight & cargo. Avoid tailgating which leads to excess braking and acceleration, wasting gas! Use good judgment and common sense to find more ways to save. Save time, expense and annoyance by avoiding accidents!
Gasoline obeys the law of supply and demand. If we all use less gas, prices will come down!. The time, energy, money, gas and life you save may be your own!
