For Kids

Wednesday, July 5 – 3:00 p.m.- Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Bring your favorite stuffed buddy to meet and greet our stuffed friends. Hear stories, do a craft, and have a snack with your buddy. Most of all have fun! Your stuffed friend will spend the night at the library and when you come to pick up your stuffed friend the next day, see what kind of trouble they were up to.

Wednesday, July 19 – 3:00 p.m. – Zovargo Animal Show

Come meet and learn about animals with Zovargo. Fun and entertaining for kids of all ages.

Tuesday, July 25 – 10:30 a.m. – Hullabaloo Music for Preschoolers

Come see and enjoy music presented by the famous musical group, Hullabaloo. Kids will dance and have fun while listening to music. For kids 0-age 5. This program is free.

Wednesday, July 26 – 3:00 p.m. – Minecraft Party at the Lakeside Library

Come and design your own Minecraft world. Enjoy food, games and fun while we have a Minecraft party. This is fun for kids of all ages. Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, July 29 – 11:00 a.m. – Keyip! Kechuw! Listen! Make! Native American Storytime

Come Listen to How Jackrabbit Got His Very Long Ears, a southwestern story. Come to listen to a story and make a special craft. Perfect attendance prizes will be awarded, snacks will be provided at each meeting. Program is for kids in grades K-2. This program is in partnership with the Barona Cultural Center and Museum.

For Teens

Tuesday, July 11 – 3:00 p.m. – Henna Tattoos for Teens with Natasha

Teens come and get a henna tattoo, which is temporary and meet new friends, and enjoy light refreshments. For teens in grades 6-12. This is a free program.

Tuesday, July 18 – 3:00 p.m. – Teen Mini Comic-Con at the Lakeside Library

Meet local comic creators, booths, get free books and posters, play video games, and games. Come dressed as your favorite character for a costume contest. Refreshments will be provided. Free for all ages.

Tuesday, July 25 – 3:00 p.m. – Teen Film Club using Makey Makey

Teens will learn how to design their own film using Makey Makey, a kit that uses fruit and other things to make connections and make things work. Refreshments will be provided and this event is for teens in grades 6-12.

For Adults

Saturday, July 8 – 2:00 p.m. – Essential Oils Part I with DIY

Learn how to incorporate the gifts of nature into your daily life! Today learn how to make your own: Sunscreen – after sun spray – insect repellent and more!!! Presented by Suz and Beth from Lakeside Organic Community Gardens.

Saturday, July 15 – 2:00 p.m. – Indian Cuisine Cooking Demo

Two-hour cooking demonstration and tasting of Indian cuisine with Madhu Velji. Come join us, smell the spices and sample starter, main dishes and dessert. Reservation in advance is required!

Monday, July 17 – 3:00 p.m. – Jewelry Design – Make a Pandora Bracelet

Make and take a Pandora bracelet – all for free! Dawnne-Marie Miller is teaching the class. RSVP!

Saturday, July 22 – 10:00 a.m. – Control Ants the Healthy Way

Free Community Workshop that shows you how to make your home and garden less attractive to ants – What to do when ants invade your house – what to do when ants are in your plants – Why spraying chemicals does not provide effective control of ants – How and why ant baits do work. Speaker is Environmental Horticulturist Carolyn Kinnon from the "Healthy Garden – Healthy Home Initiative" – a cooperation of University of California, County of San Diego and the United States Department of Agriculture.
