Anne Craig-Tillmond is holding a Town Hall with local Padre Dam Municipal Water District Board Members Dr. Suzan Till (Division II) and Kim Hales (Division IV) on March 30 from 2-3:30 p.m. at The Alpine Club located at 1830 Alpine Blvd.
Till represents Division II includes Santee (northeast up to Lakeside), Blossom Valley, and the Flinn Springs communities. Hales represents Division IV includes Alpine, Crest, Harbison Canyon, and the Peutz Valley communities.
Craig-Tillmond said that she put this town hall together so East County residents can meet the board members in their areas, ask questions, and discuss fire safety, engineering planning, advanced water purification, and more.
“I am just an Alpine resident who believes that residents should be engaged with their elected officials. Since we are back here in the rural areas, and the backcountry areas, we do not get a chance to come face-to-face with elected officials,” she said.
Craig-Tillmond said water is an important issue to people who reside in East County’s backcountry.
“Kim Hales is a wonderful Alpine resident who was recently elected to the Division IV Padre Dam Board of Directors. She is a biologist, she is knowledgeable, very active, and wants to welcome residents and customers with their questions. She and Dr. Till are highly knowledgeable, and they will be able to explain about fire preparedness safety in regards to water, about the Advanced Water Purification system that is generating a lot of great, clean water and refilling the water in the aquafers and water tables in the area, and discuss the engineering, planning, infrastructure, and projects they are intending to effect,” she said. “Also, how the hierarchy works. All the municipal water districts have an overseer.”
