Assemblyman Randy Voepel Legislator of the Year.

“Assemblyman Voepel is one of us; a Vietnam veteran, and he understands our issues and the importance of helping not just our generation of veterans, but the men and women who are currently returning home from deployments in the Middle East,” said Dean Gotham, Chairman, VVA-CSC Government Affairs Committee.

“As a Vietnam veteran, this award is a great honor for me,” said Voepel. “There are millions of veterans throughout our country who have endured great sacrifices and hardship, and it’s important that our government implements policies that reflect that reality. As an Assemblymember, I have worked on legislation that would help veterans of all conflicts and will continue to do so in Sacramento.”

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) was founded in 1978 to promote, support, and aggressively advocate on the full range of issues important to Vietnam veterans, the next generation of America’s war veterans, and to also serve our local communities. Vietnam Veterans of America is the only national Vietnam veterans’ organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. Nationwide VVA has 81,000 members, while the Vietnam Veterans of America, California State Council has over 4,900 members statewide.
