Toast of La Mesa

Eggs in purgatory

Due to an incredible success in North County and Las Vegas, Toasted Breakfast, gastrobrunch and dinner is opening in La Mesa on Jan. 17 at 8555 Fletcher Parkway.
Toasted serves brunch from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. followed by dinner from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The plentiful brunch menu, which also offers some lunch entrees, boasts a selection of “Benny’s,” loaded toasts, pancakes, “South of the Border” dishes, and egg specialties, such as the smoked brisket hash.

“They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day – we agree! And brunch continues to be a growing weekly must for weekends – and weekdays too –widening the fame for all-day breakfast cravings,” said local restauranteur Sami Ladeki in a press release. “Toasted continues to expand in popularity, and we’re thrilled to bring it to East County with our most craveable dishes.”

“Return for dinner and try the wagyu burger on brioche. Other dinner favorites include Sammy’s fan favorites of the Chopped Chicken Salad, Mini Duck Tacos and the pizzas that made them famous. There will be new additions to enhance the menu, such as grilled octopus, thin crust pizzas and a variety of tacos. And, of course, the Messy Sundae will be on the menu for dessert.”

The bar will also showcase crafted morning wood cocktails, including Bloody Mary’s and bottomless Mimosas, by day, and specialty cocktails, beer, and wine to complement the dinner menu.

Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza opened its doors in 1989, in La Jolla by local restaurateur Ladeki. Sammy’s was the first restaurant concept in San Diego to introduce the woodfired oven to its guests. Its cuisine is created using local, organic, and nutritionally balanced ingredients, and all its fare is prepared without butter or artificial trans-fat, from fresh gourmet salads to award-winning pizzas.

Sammy’s has grown to multiple locations of the well-respected name throughout California and Nevada. The brand also created Toasted Gastrobrunch with three locations: one in Oceanside and two in Nevada.
