St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center is holding its 45th annual Haute with Heart Fashion Show on Aug. 19 at the Hilton Bayfront in downtown San Diego. This year’s theme, “Fashion in Paradise,” will transport guests to a tropical oasis as SMSC students and professional models take the runway in the latest fashions. Along with the fashion show, there will be performances from SMSC students, a luncheon, a live auction, silent auction, opportunity drawing, and the event’s signature boutique shopping.
SMSC serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and this signature event raises funds for its innovative programs, such as its Activity Center, Adult Developmental Center, Behavior Modification Program, and Senior Program.
SMSC CEO Debra Emerson said again this year, they are using Fashion Show Producer Kristi Brooks, and students will be dressed in style in Macy’s fashions, and a few other selected fashion outlets picked out by Brooks.
“This is our 45th fashion show, so we are celebrating this milestone with our Women’s Auxiliary,” she said. “We are really excited about that. We are honoring Tom Page, a big philanthropist locally. One of our families is our honorary chairs, Gary and Maureen Sage, and their son goes to our school. So, we are keeping this very family-oriented this year with people who have helped us through the last 45 years.”
