Noah Homes, based in Spring Valley, was named the 2025 Non-Profit Organization of the Year by the San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce during the Chamber’s East County Honors Awards Gala in February.
Noah Homes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides residential care, advocacy, and collaborative services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“We are deeply grateful for our East County community and the East County Chamber of Commerce, who provide a profound source of encouragement and momentum for Noah Homes,” said Sandra Rocco-Melville, executive director for Noah Homes in a press release. “Thank you for standing by our mission of providing exceptional residential care and choices for adults with developmental disabilities within an inclusive community. We will carry our Non-Profit of the Year designation with great honor.”
For more than 40 years, Noah Homes has offered programs and residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. This past year has been particularly meaningful as the nonprofit organization, which houses 90 residents and employs 136 staff members, achieved new milestones to increase its impact.
Participated in the ‘Keep the Promise’ rally, a statewide effort that helped reduce the delay in state funding that directly benefits caregiver wages and the quality of care for individuals with I/DD.
Welcomed the first People First chapter to East County San Diego, where participants learn about self-advocacy and more.
Grew Noah’s PERCH, a social group developed for and by adults with intellectual disabilities, to more than 200 members, and hosted 12 PERCH events in 2024.
Expanded its CEU-eligible training offerings on compassionate and empathetic caregiving, solidifying its position as a leader in serving the I/DD community.
Looking ahead, Noah Homes is committed to making its CEU-eligible training courses available to as many local and national care providers and medical professionals as possible, equipping them to lead with empathy and compassion while caring for adults with intellectual disabilities and/or memory care needs. Noah Homes has long been a training provider for aging-adult and government agencies, including the East County Chamber and San Diego County employees.
