Randy Jones run, walk for developmentally disabled this weekend

Based in El Cajon, Home of Guiding Hands, a nonprofit that provides support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is hosting its 15th Annual Randy Jones Run, Walk & Roll for Independence on Feb. 8 at De Anza Cove in Mission Bay starting at 8 a.m.

Randy Jones, former San Diego Padre and National League Cy Young Award Winner, will once again join forces with Home of Guiding Hands to support over 4,700 infants, adolescents, and adults with Intellectual and developmental disabilities during this run/walk event.

“We are thrilled for another year of the Walk/Run with Randy Jones! Randy has been involved with Home of Guiding Hands for decades, and we created this event together 15 years ago. Since then, it has become a cherished tradition, bringing together our clients, families, and community for a fun and inclusive experience. Every dollar raised directly supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living their lives to the fullest,” said HGH CEO Edward Hershey.

The Annual Randy Jones Run/Walk for Independence is dedicated to raising funds for Home of Guiding Hands programs to provide care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As one of the largest providers of supports and services in San Diego County and Imperial County, Home of Guiding Hands believes that every person deserves to live the life of their choice. They partner with people and their families to identify goals, and provide the support needed to grow and learn new skills.
