Santa Claus is arriving at Parkway Plaza, kicking off the holiday shopping season. Along with his elves, Santa will arrive on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. starting with photos with Santa leading up to the Tree Lighting Ceremony in center court at 5 p.m. The ceremony features crafts, special holiday characters, giveaways, and the first 100 children receiving light up wands. After the tree lighting, Parkway is partnering with Home of Guiding Hands with its “groovy beats” Silent Disco event from 6-8 p.m. next to JCPenney.
Photos with Santa have several themes from Nov. 18 through Dec. 24, including children with special needs. Santa Cares allows children with sensory needs to meet Santa before the crowds for a quieter, stress-free environment on Dec. 3, 10, and 17 from 8-10 a.m. Every Monday is Pet Night with Santa from 5-8 p.m. and every Wednesday is PJ Night from 5-8 p.m. For more time with Santa, he is hosting Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 9 from 9-11 a.m.
