Murray Manor Elementary receives educational grant from Barona Educational Grant Program

Each year, the cost of education can rise with new developments in technology. On Oct. 28, the Barona Educational Grant Program gave $5,000 to Murray Manor Elementary School in La Mesa to help with the cost of iPad covers to protect this essential learning tool for current and future students.

Each year, the cost of education can rise with new developments in technology. On Oct. 28, the Barona Educational Grant Program gave $5,000 to Murray Manor Elementary School in La Mesa to help with the cost of iPad covers to protect this essential learning tool for current and future students.

State Senator Joel Anderson attended the check presentation at Murray Manor Elementary. Anderson has been involved with the Barona Educational Grant Program since it began in 2006. 

He is the endorsing legislator of Murray Manor Elementary School’s application this year.
Anderson expressed his gratitude to the Barona Education Grant program for its dedication to the community. Anderson noted, “Barona has played a key role in supporting our community’s youth and education. I am grateful I can be here today to witness the generosity of Barona and the impact its donation will bring.”

Barona Tribal Council Vice Chairman Raymond Welch accompanied Anderson in presenting the check to Murray Manor Principal Gina Miller.
