On May 10, the La Mesa-El Cajon Branch of the American Association of University Women will feature Keshia Jarvis-Jones from the Foundation for Women Warriors as their speaker.
The Foundation for Women Warriors is a 105-year-old nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and empowering the women veteran community.
Jarvis-Jones is currently the director of Community Partnerships at Foundation for Women Warriors, leading all FFWW community partnerships and professional development education. Before this role, Jarvis-Jones was an integral volunteer and ambassador for FFWW. In these roles, Jarvis-Jones raised significant funds and assisted in advocacy efforts to garner support for the 6888th Congressional Gold Medal.
Jarvis-Jones previously worked as an administrative director of Education Programs, Outreach director, and director of Operations in the veteran nonprofit sector.
Jarvis-Jones began her career in the United States Marine Corps where for ten years she served as an administrator and reserve career planner. In addition to her formal specialties, Jarvis-Jones worked as Funeral Honors coordinator, Toys for Tots coordinator and Female Search Team advisor.
Jarvis-Jones is an alumni of the 2023 Harvard Business School, San Diego Nonprofit Management course, 2020 alumni of LEAD San Diego, currently serves on the City of San Diego Mayor’s Veterans, Military, and Families Council, is an advisor to the KPBS GI Film Festival and a member of the San Diego Women’s Foundation Board of Directors.
